Ex-chair of PSI to become BBC head of statistics

Jul 3, 2017, 07:58 AM

Robert is currently at GSK, and before that he was the head of statistics at ViiV Healthcare, where he worked on HIV prevention and clinical trial data disclosure.  At PSI he helped set up the Science Media Centre’s ‘Before the headlines’ and last year he was very involved in the PSI/RSS merger campaign.  He is also one of the RSS’s statistical ambassadors and through that role he has interacted with the national media.

His new post will help the BBC ‘to better tell stories that contain numbers and data’. Robert will act as a consultant to BBC journalists in the News division, and will work closely with his colleagues on stories where complex statistical analysis is needed.

We wish him every success in his new role.
