PSI are pleased to announce the countdown to the 2018 Conference has begun! The theme for the conference is “Breaking Boundaries in Drug Development”. The conference will be held at the Beurs Van Berlage, Amsterdam, from 3rd to 6th June 2018. Registration will open in November, with the early bird deadline for registrations on the 21st March 2018.

The conference will consist of a variety of plenary and parallel sessions, as well as breakout discussion sessions, a poster session and the annual general meeting. Please note the conference will be a full 3 days from Monday to Wednesday.

Sessions will include data transparency, the Asterix project in rare diseases, application and implementation of methodologies in statistics, missing data, study design role play, regulatory town hall and many more with speakers from industry, academia and regulatory agencies.  A draft agenda will be released later this year along with the 2018 Conference app.

Due to popular demand, we are keeping the 10% discount on the 3 day conference price for anyone selected for an oral presentation. Please note the deadlines:

Oral Abstract: 24th November 2017
Poster Abstract: 28th February 2018

We welcome abstracts on any subject but would be particularly interested in the following:

  • Methods/Applications of Machine Learning
  • Innovative Methods to Analysing Safety Data
  • Bayesian Topics within Early or Late Phase
  • Advances in Pre-Clinical Development
  • Applications of Real World Data
  • Complex Early Designs e.g. Umbrella/Basket Studies
  • Case Studies using Genomic/Biomarker Data
  • Case Studies Involving Innovative Designs/Methodology
  • Methods/Application of Observational or Non-Interventional Trials
  • Examples in the Area of Health Technology Assessments
  • Designs/Analysis for Medical Devices
  • Novel Approaches to Paediatric Development
  • Case Studies involving Translational Research

If you are a career young statistician (approximately less than 5 years working in the pharmaceutical industry) then there will be a dedicated contributed session for you. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in presenting in a friendly environment and to network with peers at other companies.

Given the success of our 1 minute poster preview in 2017, anyone selected for a poster will be asked if they would like to give a 1 minute presentation on their poster to give people a brief insight into their work. This will form part of the final session on the Monday, leading into the poster session.

In order to submit an abstract, please download a form which must be completed and sent to psi2018conference@mci-group.com

Successful applicants will be notified within three weeks following the deadline.

Finally, sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are already ongoing; thanks to those who have already signed up. We will be allocating the choice of exhibition space in the order exhibitors sign up. So get in early to secure the best space!

Should your company be interested please contact Alex Currie (alexander.8.currie@gsk.com) or Chris Watton on (psi@wattonhall.com).

We hope you will join us in building on the great success of this year’s event to make 2018 an even greater event.
